Stirling Albion U-19's Draw SPL's Motherwell FC in Scottish FA Youth Cup

September 15th 2010 -

Stirling Albion FC's U-19 Academy Team have drawn Scottish Premier League opponents, Motherwell FC in the 2nd Round of the Scottish FA Youth Cup.

The match will take place on Saturday, October 9th at Fir Park Stadium with a 2pm Kick-Off.

"This will be a very tough match for our players." commented College Sport USA Sporting Futures Manager & Stirling Albion FC U-19 Coach, David Binnie.

"It will be a tremendous experience for the lads and will allow them to test themselves against a team from the league above."

Motherwell have had a 100% start to their season and have allready defeated 2009 Youth Cup Champions, Hibernian.

Stirling themselves have enjoyed a good start to their season and are currently on a winning streak of 3 straight matches.

Coaches David Binnie & Graeme Donlad will no doubt look back to 2007 when their Stirling Albion team last faced SPL Opposition in the Cup. A thrilling penalty shootout victory at Falkirk FC's stadium was a real highlight of that particular season.

They will both be hoping that the current team can emulate that victory by knocking the highly fancied Motherwell out of the SFA Youth Cup.

College Sport USA will be represented in this match with a good number of our current recruits taking part.

We wish Stirling Albion FC all the very best of luck.
