College Sport USA are delighted to announce that two bright young talents have set their sights on the US Collegiate system for the summer of 2011.
Jonathan Cooper, formerly an Academy scholar at the prestigious Falkirk FC Centre of Excellence in Scotland and Sam Croker, formerly of Swindon Town FC's Youth Academy, have joined the College Sport USA Mentoring Program with a view to finding a new home next year in the United States.
Jonathan Cooper enjoyed a highly successful youth career with Falkirk FC having previously worn the colors of the famous Heart of Midlothian Football Club. He is an energetic centre mid who plays predominately in the protective holding role. Jonathan was extremely close to being offered a professional contract with the club in the summer, however the club's relegation to the Scottish 1st Division meant that the senior team budget did not allow for this to happen. Jonathan has since joined top Scottish Junior club Bo'Ness United FC for the season as he steps up his playing preparation ahead of a move to the United States.
Sam Crocker is a highly rated product of English League 1 side, Swindon Town FC. Sam joined the club as a youngster and quickly established himself as one of the clubs top young prospects. He is a tall powerful player who can occupy a number of positions from centre back to centre midfield. He is a very intelligent player who combines all the technical attributes expected of a player who has been coached at the top level.
College Sport USA are excited to be working with these two talented young players. We have a commitment to identifying only the best young talent for the many US based coaches who trust us to find them the next star performers.
In Jonathan Cooper and Sam Crocker we have unearthed genuine talents who we are confident will light up the American game for years to come.
