College Sport USA's Andrew Shakarji takes up Grad Assistant Coach job at South Western State

College Sport USA's Andrew Shakarji has been appointed to the position as Graduate Assistant Coach of the womens soccer team at South Western State University in time for the start of this coming fall season.

Andrew enjoyed a terrific career as the mens soccer team captain at Southern Nazarene Univeristy under the expert guidance of Head Coach Mark Persson before returning home to Scotland in 2009.

Andrew then spent a highly successful internship with College Sport USA in 2009/2010 where he gained an indepth knowledge of the international recruiting industry. During his time with College Sport USA, Andrew was a highly valued member of staff and used his vast knowledge and experience of the US College system to help with our Class of 2010 US bound student athletes.

In truth, Andrew found it difficult to settle back in the UK where there appeared to be very little in the way of playing opportunities to help him realize his career ambitions.

It was with great excitement that Andrew informed College Sport USA that his former Head Coach had asked him to join him in his new position at South Western Oklahoma State University. Andrew will now serve under coach Persson as Graduate Assistant to the women's soccer team. He will also be completing his Masters Degree at the same time.

Andrew will remain an important part of the College Sport USA system and will be on hand to provide advice and support to our UK and US based students.

College Sport USA would like to wish Andrew all the very best in his new position and also to thank him for his excellent work during his internship with us.
